James Maloney is a seasoned financial communications and public affairs executive with extensive experience in strategic planning, financial and political media relations, issues management, stakeholder engagement, risk mitigation, and financial public policy.
He was previously a senior member of the Financial Communications & Capital Markets practice at the global public relations firm Edelman, where he led successful client engagements for an array of financial services firms, with a specialization in private capital.
Earlier, James was the Head of Public Affairs and Communications for the American Investment Council, the leading private equity industry trade association. He directed the Council’s external affairs, media relations, and stakeholder communications practices, and advised on government relations. He also served as the Council’s principal spokesperson, quoted in
The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Financial Times, Bloomberg, Reuters, Politico, The Hill, and trade publications.
James frequently speaks at national and international industry conferences, on topics ranging from federal regulations and market trends to ESG methodologies and impact investing.
He has also led policy and communications for a number of U.S. Congressional campaigns.
He currently serves on the Executive Board of Venture for America and Sustaining Board of YOUTH INC, and resides in Manhattan.
